Growing and improving together: our path towards Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

From the very beginning, we are a multicultural community made up of people with different ages, nationalities, social status and life experiences. This could have been an obstacle: welcoming and integrating so many differences is complex. But we immediately tried to turn a possible difficulty into an opportunity by building a plural vision.

That is why we are charting a course towards a corporate policy that embraces diversity, equity and inclusion. We saw in these guiding principles the engine for growth and innovation, even when few people were talking about these issues, because over the years each voice has helped shape our identity.

We started by looking at our own reality, to get to know each other better and put in place strategies to create an environment where all people have the right tools to work together.

And every action along this path has a solid, shared basis as a reference: the values of Servizi Italia, in particular the importance of relationships, tolerance and a sense of belonging; those guiding principles that influence the way we act on a daily basis.

Our projects: how we concretely promote Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

We live in a historical context of great fragmentation: voices, old and new, demanding sensitivity and respect do not always find ears willing to listen and welcome change. For us, this is precisely the ideal time to take a stand on the great social challenges we face.

Here we tell you about some of the steps in our journey towards Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. We believe that each step in this direction enables us to promote active participation in a society where each person is valued, respected and part of a common project.

Inspiring young women to pursue their ambitions

Dreams and aspirations can be pursued regardless of gender. Inspiring Girls is a project of Valore D (the first association of companies promoting gender balance and inclusive culture) that we support with the aim of inspiring and motivating young women to pursue careers in traditionally male-dominated fields such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subjects.

We have developed a mentoring program for new recruits because we believe that every new entry into the company is an opportunity for growth and exchange. Welcoming people who join the Servizi Italia team in a structured way encourages the transfer of knowledge and skills between different generations, creating a working environment rich in diversity of thought and experience.

We believe in work life balance: no one has to choose between career and family

We recognise the importance of work-life balance with special attention to people with care responsibilities. We implement flexible policies and support initiatives that facilitate family management so that our employees never have to choose between career and family.

Promoting language free of prejudice and stereotypes

We believe that language plays a key role in creating a welcoming workplace that respects people, values their differences and promotes the well-being of all. Our internal and external communication reflects our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. We collaborate with organisations such as Valore D, Parole O_Stili and Fondazione Libellula to promote language and behaviour free of prejudice, stereotypes and discriminatory attitudes.

Abbiamo conseguito la certificazione per la parità di genere UNI/PdR 125:2022

Quando si parla di responsabilità sociale d’impresa si deve intendere anche il dovere sociale che le aziende hanno di influenzare positivamente la catena del valore di cui fanno parte.

Attraverso la comunicazione, la condivisione, la formazione e attraverso azioni concrete possiamo certamente influenzare la comunità a cui apparteniamo e creare un ambiente in grado di colmare il divario che attualmente esiste fra uomini e donne, contribuendo a creare una società più equa e accessibile per tutte e tutti.

L’adesione alla norma va in questa direzione e dimostra la volontà di adottare un percorso strutturale di cambiamento culturale per il mondo del lavoro di oggi, ma anche e soprattutto per le nuove generazioni, che hanno prospettive e aspettative.

In particolare, questa certificazione promuove e tutela l’adozione di politiche e misure per favorire l’occupazione femminile, pari opportunità nell’accesso al lavoro, parità reddituale, pari accesso alle opportunità di carriera e di formazione, piena attuazione del congedo di paternità, programmi di welfare a sostegno dei carichi di cura.

Siamo convinti che la parità di genere passi attraverso azioni concrete che realizzano cambiamenti duraturi nel tempo.

Questa certificazione è per noi un impegno concreto per contribuire a eliminare il divario di genere e trasformare la nostra organizzazione in un luogo inclusivo, valorizzante, equo.
